This policy explains what information The B&E Edit collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not archived.
Who We Are
The B&E Edit is a skincare protocol app developed and operated by Amanda Harris, Wilton, CT (“we,” “us,” or “The B&E Edit”). The app is available on iOS. Our website is beedit.skin. You can reach us at hello@beedit.skin.
Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Your name and email address when you join the waitlist or create an account
- The skincare products you add to your shelf (product names and ingredient lists)
- Skin condition flags you select (e.g. sensitivity, breakout, dryness) during daily check-ins
- Procedure dates you log (e.g. laser, microneedling, chemical peel)
- Category-level health flags (e.g. “on a topical prescription”) — we do not store specific medication or prescription names
Information collected automatically:
- Device type, operating system, and app version
- Usage data (features accessed, audit frequency) — used only to improve the app
- Crash reports and error logs
How We Use Your Information
- To run ingredient conflict audits and generate your skincare protocol
- To send you waitlist and product update emails (via Klaviyo — you can unsubscribe at any time)
- To process your subscription and manage your account
- To improve the accuracy of our conflict detection engine
- To comply with our legal obligations
We do not use your skincare or health data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with third parties except as described in this policy.
Third Parties We Work With
- Klaviyo — email marketing platform. Stores your email and name for communications you have opted into.
- Apple App Store — processes subscription payments. Apple’s privacy policy governs payment data.
- OpenAI — powers the plain-language explanations of ingredient conflicts. Product data is sent to OpenAI’s API for this purpose and is subject to OpenAI’s data processing terms.
- Vercel / hosting provider — hosts our website. Processes server logs and IP addresses as part of normal web hosting.
We do not sell your data to any of these parties or to anyone else.
Health-Related Data
The skincare and skin condition information you provide is health-adjacent. We treat it with care. We store category-level flags only (e.g. “on a prescription topical”) — never specific drug names. This data is used solely to improve the accuracy of your conflict audit. It is encrypted at rest and in transit and is not shared with advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances.
The B&E Edit is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is not a substitute for consultation with a licensed dermatologist or physician.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and shelf information within 30 days. Some anonymised, aggregated data (e.g. “what percentage of users have a vitamin C conflict”) may be retained for product improvement purposes and cannot be attributed to any individual.

Cookies and Tracking
Our website (beedit.skin) uses minimal cookies. We use session cookies necessary for the site to function. We may use analytics to understand traffic volume and source. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to use the site.
Children’s Privacy
The B&E Edit is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at hello@beedit.skin and we will delete it promptly.
California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of your information, and to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at hello@beedit.skin.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app grows. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice in the app. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
